• Q: How to replace the cabin air filter on 2005 Cadillac DeVille?

  A: To change the passenger compartment air filter, first press the tabs to release the filter accessible cover and removes it. Gently flex the passenger side of HVAC filter housing to unlatch the HVAC filter from the part in the housing, as well as the filter with the cowl and housing. For installation, bend one side of the passenger-side HVAC Air housing filter to allow the air filter to slide in, then install HVAC air filter into the filter housing, then reinstall the HVAC filter access cover. To remove the HVAC air filter and housing, press the tabs to release the filter access cover, take it out and withdraw the push pin retainer from the forward edge of the HVAC filter and housing. In a flat bladed tool relief the retainer tab on the passenger side by putting a tool in the air filter near the compartment wall on the outer edge of the vehicle. For installation, put the HVAC filter into the HVAC filter housing, slide the housing into the opening of the cowl, and press it in the rear of the vehicle until you hear a click sound. Lastly, install the push pin retainer into the forward corner of HVAC filter housing and the reinstall the HVAC filter access cover.
