To change the passenger compartment air filter (K12), the first step would be to lift up the access cover for the air inlet panel and then remove the filter from the filter housing. For installation, clamp the new filter into the filter housing and cover it with the access cover. The first step to replace the passenger compartment air filter involves taking out the left sound insulator panel. Moving the shift cable grommet requires twisting before finding a position out of the way of the filter access cover. The process could involve cutting the tie strap while pulling back the foam insulation. Push downward and pull out the filter access cover during the next step of the process. Begin by removing tape from the first filter and then use the filter tab to gently extract it. Apply this method similarly to the second and third filters. Spray silicon will facilitate new filter guide installation by providing lubrication while ensuring the filters maintain their straight position throughout the process. Install the first filter inside the HVAC module assembly by elevating it with a tab or long screwdriver until it catches the holding rib that exists within the filter case. The second filter slides into the tab of the first filter before it enters the rest of the channels to catch onto the holding ribs. Set the second filter tab down and then elevate the third filter tab on top of the previous filters. Afterward re-install the filter access cover then move the shift cable grommet to its correct position before sealing off any insulation and placing the left sound insulator panel back into position.
