  • Q: How to replace the Ignition Coil(s) for Bank 1 on 2004 Cadillac Seville?
A: For bank 1, remove the Ignition Coil(s) by removing the fuel injector sight shield and Ignition Coil cover from the cam cover by lifting it straight up, if applicable. If needed, unplug secondary air injector (AIR) vent solenoid electric connector and unplug air check valve to gain access to the serviced coil. Remove lead from the Ignition Coil wiring harness electric connector on the primary coil to be replaced, remove stove bolt holding Ignition Coil, remove and carefully take out Ignition Coil. If all coils must be dislodged, disconnect the main coil's wiring harness at the cam cover, after which you remove the coil assembly retaining bolts and studs before pulling the Ignition Coil assembly with caution. For installation, carefully locate the Ignition Coil assembly, and have the Ignition Coil seals in place, and the coil assembly retaining bolts and studs, tightening them to 10 nm (89 lb in). Tie the main coil wiring harness to the cam cover, mount the Ignition Coil and secure it with a retaining bolt with approximately 10 nm (89 lb in) of torque. Reconnect the Ignition Coil electrical connector, as well as the secondary air injector (AIR) vent solenoid electrical connector, if it was disconnected. If the air check valve was not present, fit it, then on the subject of the Ignition Coil to cam cover if equipped, fit the fuel injector sight shield.
