How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 1 on 2004 Cadillac Seville?

Before beginning heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) bank 1 sensor 1 replacement the engine temperature must surpass 48°c (120°F) for removal purposes. The threads of reused sensors require application of anti-seize compound p/n 5613695 or equivalent because new service sensors enter the market with factory pre-coated threads. Follow these steps: first raise the vehicle, then secure the powertrain frame at its rear position. Lower the frame only 73.2 mm (3 inches) by unscrewing the four rear frame bolts. First disconnect the rear Oxygen Sensor electrical connector before extracting the sensor from its position in the rear Exhaust Manifold. Fit the rear Oxygen Sensor into the rear Exhaust Manifold before torquing it to 41 nm (30 lb ft). Start by reconnecting the rear Oxygen Sensor electrical connector before lifting the frame to reinstall the four rear frame bolts with proper torque of 100 nm (74 lb ft). After completing installation lower the vehicle then execute a code-clearing procedure.
