How to replace the Door Latch Assembly on the upper left side rear door on 2004 Chevrolet Express 1500?

The first step to replace the left side rear door upper latch requires removal of the left side rear door trim panel. The replacement process starts with removing the left side rear door upper latch lock rod and following it by removing the bolts that connect the latch to the door. The left side rear door upper latch needs to be removed after taking away the bolts. New left side rear door upper latch installation includes positioning the part on the door before attaching it with bolts that require tightening to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). To finish the task you need to first attach the lock rod to the latch before you reinstall the left side rear door trim panel.
