The first step to replace the left side rear door upper latch requires removal of the left side rear door trim panel. The replacement process starts with removing the left side rear door upper latch lock rod and following it by removing the bolts that connect the latch to the door. The left side rear door upper latch needs to be removed after taking away the bolts. New left side rear door upper latch installation includes positioning the part on the door before attaching it with bolts that require tightening to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). To finish the task you need to first attach the lock rod to the latch before you reinstall the left side rear door trim panel.

The replacement of a rear side door latch requires the removal of the side rear door trim panel according to the right or left trim panel replacement procedure. The next step requires disconnecting the side rear door lower latch lock rod from the side rear door lower latch. Dismantle the bolts holding the side rear door lower latch to the frame followed by removing the latch from its position. The installation requires proper placement of the new side rear door lower latch onto the door while observing all fastener precautions. The latch installation requires users to install bolts and tighten them to 25 Nm (18 lb ft). After reconnecting the side rear door lower latch lock rod to the latch it is necessary to reinstall the side rear door trim panel through proper installation protocols for right or left side application.

Take out the power door lock actuator retainers from the door lock assembly.

Reattach the lock rod to the side rear door upper latch and finally reinstall the side rear door trim panel.

Start by installing the latch brackets, followed by the rivets.

Detach the lock rods from the sliding side door rear lock and remove the bolts securing the lock to the door.

Begin by removing the sliding side door lower trim panel.

Install the new side rear door upper latch onto the door and secure it with a bolt, tightening it to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

Take out the two retainers securing the power door lock actuator from the door lock assembly, and then remove the actuator itself.

Open the door and disconnect the power connector.

Begin by opening the door and disconnecting the power connector.

Ensure to follow fastener caution to prevent vehicle damage during the process.

Install the new latch back onto the door.

Finally, reinstall the left side rear door trim panel.

Position the side rear door lower latch back onto the door and install the bolts to secure it, tightening them to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

Reinstall the left side rear door trim panel.

Remove the latch bolts and the latch.

Next, take out the two retainers securing the power door lock actuator to the door lock assembly, and then remove the actuator itself.

First, remove the left side rear door trim panel.

Install the new left side rear door lower latch and secure it with the four bolts, tightening them to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

Position the new power door lock actuator and secure it with the two retainers to the door lock assembly.

Remove the screw that secures the side front door lock to the door and take out the side front door lock.

Remove the two latch bolts and take out the latch.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the lock and attach the lock rods to the lock.

Reattach the lock rod to the left side rear door upper latch.

First, remove the left side rear door trim panel.

Remove the bolts that secure the side rear door upper latch to the door and take out the latch.

Connect the electrical connectors to the lock.

Begin by installing the power door lock actuator.

Finally, reinstall the side rear door trim panel.

After that, take out the side rear door upper latch.

First, remove the door lock assembly by following the appropriate lock replacement procedure for the front door, side front door, rear door, or sliding door rear.

Drill out the two rivets and remove the latch bracket.

Detach the lock rod from the left side rear door lower latch and remove the four bolts securing the latch to the door.
