Upper Latch, Driver Side

The first step to replacing the left side rear door upper latch requires you to remove the corresponding trim panel. The first step involves separating the lock rod from the left side rear door upper latch before removing the bolts holding the latch to the door structure. The procedure demands that you remove the left side rear door upper latch after taking out the bolts securing it to the door. Fit the new left side rear door upper latch onto its position on the door through the installation process using bolts which should be tightened to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Secure the lock rod to its position on the latch after which you can install the left side rear door trim panel.

Follow the Fastener Notice for proper installation.

Place the sliding side door control assembly back into the vehicle and attach it to the sliding side door.

First install the latch brackets, then the rivets, followed by the latch.

Position the new power door lock actuator and secure it with the two retainers to the door lock assembly.

Reattach the lock rod to the latch and finally reinstall the left side rear door trim panel.

Reattach the lock rod to the side rear door upper latch and finally reinstall the side rear door trim panel.

Install the new left side rear door lower latch and secure it with the four bolts, tightening them to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

Install the latch.

Open the door and disconnect the power connector.

Remove the two latch bolts and take out the latch.

Take out the power door lock actuator retainers from the door lock assembly.

Finally, reinstall the left side rear door trim panel.

Unscrew the bolts that secure the lock to the door.

Detach the lock rod from the left side rear door lower latch and remove the four bolts securing the latch to the door.

Reconnect the side rear door lower latch lock rod to the latch and finally reinstall the side rear door trim panel, following the appropriate replacement procedure for the right or left side.

Reinstall the left side rear door trim panel.

Reconnect the electrical connector to the side front door lock and attach the lock rods to the side front door lock.
