• Q: How to replace the rear door hinge on 2005 Buick LeSabre?

  A: To change the rear Door Hinge, you need first to open the rear and front doors, also you need to remove the door trim panel, water deflector, and center pillar garnish molding. Separate the door wire harness from the body wire harness and separate the door wire harness connector from the center pillar. Next, pull the door check link fasteners out from the pillar, remove the fasteners of intermediate hinges from the hinges on both sides. With help, pry the door off, noting the position of the hinges on the body and the door with a grease pencil in preparation of removing the hinge to body and hinge to door fasteners. During installation, align the body side half of the hinge to the marks on pillar, attach the hinge half to the body, and tighten the hinge to body fasteners to 35 n.m (26 lb ft). Align the door half of hinge with the marks made on the door install the fasteners and tighten it to 34 n. M(24 lbs ft). With help, position the halves of the Door Hinge and bring the door down to mate together. Use loctite,(R) blue (GM P/N 12345382 or (Canadian P/N 10953489)) the intermediate hinge fasteners and apply against the nuts and install them then tightening them to 24 n.m (18 lb ft). Retorquethe door check link and join the door wire harness on the body wire harness, installing the door wire harness connector to the hinge pillar. And finally, install the center pillar garnish molding, water deflector, and door trim panel, adjust hinge, and door for general using and repairs, also paint touch up the hinge link fasteners to water deflector color.
