- Q: How to Replace a Radiator Hose in an LH2 Heavy Duty Cooling System on 2005 Cadillac STS?A: Before beginning replacement of the Radiator outlet hose, drain the coolant then detach the air cleaner outlet duct. Before you begin, use the hose clamp pliers (J38185) to release the clamp tension then remove the Radiator outlet hose from both the Thermostat Housing and the support bracket. After using the hose clamp pliers (J38185) to loosen the Radiator outlet hose clamp tension you can disconnect the hose from the afterboil coolant pump. Lift your vehicle in the air while you take out the front air deflector retainers and front air deflector components. Begin by removing nuts that secure the Engine Control Module (ECM) while also placing it out of the way. Use the hose clamp pliers (J38185) to release pressure on the hose clamp then detach the Radiator outlet hose from the Radiator. Lower the vehicle before removing the Radiator outlet hose. Reinstall the Radiator outlet hose to the vehicle then lift the vehicle once more. Apply clean coolant to the inside hose diameters before using hose clamp pliers (J38185) to loosen the outlet hose clamp tension then place the clamp into position. Install the ecm mounting bracket and apply 8 nm torque (71 inch lbs) to both ecm mounting nuts. After fastening the front air deflector with its retainer system you can proceed to lower the vehicle. Secure the Radiator outlet hose to the afterboil coolant pump using the hose clamp pliers (J38185) for Radiator outlet hose clamp repositioning. Use hose clamp pliers (J38185) to reposition the Radiator outlet hose's clamp while you install the hose from the Thermostat Housing to the support bracket. After this install the air intake duct and complete the cooling system fill.
