- Q: How to replace the Windshield Washer Pump on 2005 Cadillac XLR?A: First raise the vehicle and put it on support while keeping the hoist away from the left front fender. Ease the left front wheel and wheelhouse splash shield fasteners (1, 2, 3) at the wheelhouse base while remembering to reset the fender aligned position afterward. Take output hose off Washer Pump and empty its contents into a suitable container before disconnecting electrical connector from Washer Pump. Twist the Washer Pump off its socket in the washer solvent container. Place the Washer Pump rubber grommet into the solver tank and coat the pump parts with washer fluid so they can be installed smoothly. Push the pump body into the grommet until it returns to its correct place before joining the electrical connector and Washer Pump output hose. Check if the vehicle sits correctly and put washer solvent into the tank before testing the pumps and leakage of the level sensor. Put the fender back on its position before you attach the left front wheelhouse splash shield and install its hardware pieces (1, 2, 3).
