    A: While replacing the brake pipe, remember to use the J 45405 Pipe Flaring Tool Kit and stick to safety guidelines about brake fluid irritants and double-walled steel pipe for the brake system. Take a good look at the area of the brake pipe you'll replace, and take off any retainers that are holding it in place. Take the measurement of the pipe section to be replaced, bend and all, and add 6.3 Cut the brake pipe evenly at the right length by using the pipe cutter from the J 45405 kit. Select the right size of brake pipe and tube nuts, take the coating stripping tool from the J 45405 kit to strip the nylon covering from each end you'll flare, and use the de-burring tool included with the kit to chamfer both the insides and outsides of the pipe. Put the tube nuts on the brake pipe, clean the J 45405 and the end of the pipe, and loosen the die clamping screw. Put the appropriate die set into the die cage, slide the prepared pipe in, and check that the dies are pushed in all the way before tightening the clamp. Choose the right mandrel for the given size, press the J 45405 lever to form the flare, and afterward take out the dies and the pipe.
