2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the back window regulator in the endgate on 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: Start by opening the endgate and removing the regulator bolt access plugs to replace the back window regulator. You will start by removing the endgate trim panel and endgate inner panel reinforcement and then uninstalling the endgate window. First remove the bolt securing the regulator to the endgate before loosening nuts which keep the regulator rails attached to the endgate. Pull the regulator side rails upward and forward through their respective keyhole slots in the gate. Afterwards disconnect the electrical connector from the window regulator before you extract the regulator assembly through the access opening. After access hole insertion of the regulator assembly into the endgate connect the electrical connector to the window regulator. To install the regulator side rails you must insert the nuts through the keyhole slots and torque them to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). To install the bolt, slide it through the hole which retains the regulator motor bracket to the endgate body before securing it at 10 N.m (89 lb in). The endgate window requires reinstallation before making adjustments in all directions according to requirements. The end of this process involves installing the endgate inner panel reinforcement and the endgate trim panel before reattaching the regulator bolt access plugs and completing an endgate window learn cycle.
