Begin any bracket replacement by making sure all brake dust issues are dealt with securely in vehicles with options j65 or jl9. Place the caliper on mechanics wire support while keeping the hydraulic brake flexible hose connected to avoid possible damage and leaks. You must first take out the brake pads and then proceed to uninstall both caliper bracket bolts. After that only remove the caliper bracket. Found out if threads of caliper bracket bolts and knuckle mounting holes achieve correct clamping force by cleaning them both first. Add threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to the caliper bracket bolt threads before putting the bracket in place using the bolts and tightening them to 180 nm (133 ft. Lbs.). Put the new brake pads into position and fasten the caliper unit.
