  A: Before installing the replacement nameplate put tape on the mounting area and mark all positioning points. Heat the emblem/nameplate using a J 25070 (Heat Gun) while keeping the tool 152 mm (6 in) away from the surface and moving it in circular motions over the emblem/nameplate for 30 seconds. You need to take out the emblem/nameplate using a plastic flat-head tool. To remove adhesive at body panels use a 3M(TM) Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501). On plastic panels use VMP naphtha with a lint-free cloth or a mixture of half isopropyl alcohol and water. Wipe the preparation space with the same cloth and solvent before completely drying it. Put tape on the panel to show the emblem's placement if there is no mark available. Set the CX or CXL emblems/nameplates 19.05 mm (0.750 in) below the liftgate lower molding and 53.975 mm (2.125 in) from the edge at its side to the right. Place the VERSATRAK AWD emblem/nameplate 58.750 mm (2.313 inches) from the left edge of the liftgate with a vertical distance of 19.05 mm (0.75 inches) from the top of the liftgate lower molding. Apply the J 25070 (Heat Gun) at 27-41°C (80-105°F) to the installation surface to prepare it for the emblem/nameplate. Keep the emblem/nameplate temperature at 29-32°C (85-90°F). Pull off the protective liner without handling the adhesive and fit the emblem/nameplate on the marked surface with steady pressure to create its bond. Take the adhesive tape off the panel surface where you placed the emblem/nameplate.
