How to replace the rear brake disc on 2006 Cadillac CTS?

Start your work by freeing the parking brake and properly lifting your vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel to gain access to the brake system. Keep the brake caliper in place with heavy mechanic's wire to shield the hydraulic brake hose. Take out the brake caliper and mounting bracket together while keeping the hose away from strain. Mark the Brake Disc position after the wheel studs and unfasten the disc mounting screw while lifting it free from the bracket. To take out tough discs, place the disc removal tool (J 46277) onto the slide hammer with adapter (J 2619-01) and pull them using the device. Check for damage on park brake components and replace broken parts only. You need to clean all rust and dirt from both the hub/axle end and the Brake Disc base using the wheel hub resurfacing kit (J 42450-A) and disc resurfacing kit (J 41013). Install the disc correctly by lining up the matchmarks between surfaces before you adjust the Parking Brake Shoe tolerance for new components. Fasten the Brake Disc mounting screw and apply 14 nm torque to it. Check the Brake Disc lateral runout after assembly and adjust it when needed according to the specifications. Reinsert brake caliper and bracket hardware before placing the tire wheels assembly back on along with the vehicle body and optionally perform pad and disc burnishing.
