How to replace the rear brake pads (J56 Brembo) on 2006 Cadillac CTS?

Before starting the replacement of the j56 brembo rear brake pads check the fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir. If the fluid sits between the marked range no fluid needs to be drained. Lift the vehicle and take off both tire and wheel parts. Position the Brake Pad retainer so its lower end stays down then hit the guide pin with a mallet and punch until it exits the caliper to release the lower pin. Let the retainer rise for removal. Press the brake caliper top toward the Brake Pad mounting pin until it comes free from its position. Insert a plastic trim tool between the rotor and Brake Pad to push caliper pistons into their bores until both inners are thoroughly compressed. Do this for the outer pad only after the inners are compressed. Take the brake pads out of their position at the caliper. Examine the brake caliper guide pins and replace them if they show signs of damage or rust. Also test the Brake Caliper Piston boot and switch it out when needed. Place new brake pads inside the caliper and put the upper guide pin through the parts and pads before seating it using hammer and punch work. Lower the Brake Pad retainer under the upper caliper pin assembly then push firmly downwards on its bottom end. Insert the lower caliper guide pin so it sits securely after fitting it through brake caliper, pads, and both sides. Place tire and wheel pieces on the vehicle then lower it down while switching off the engine. Press the Brake Pedal gently to reach about 2/3 depth then return to idle position. Apply braking pressure 3 times for 15 seconds after which you need to have a strong Brake Pedal for proper Brake Pad and piston alignment. Conclude the process by replenishing brake fluid into the reservoir until it reaches correct marks while running pad and rotor seating exercises.
