How to replace the front disc brake pads (JE5) on 2007 Cadillac CTS?

Check the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid before addressing the front disc brake pads (JE5). Drain some fluid to the midway point only when the fluid level surpasses this mark. Lift the vehicle to the proper working height and take off the wheel tire assembly after that. Reverse the action by compressing the caliper pistons towards the bore and sliding the pressed caliper over the brake rotor. Afterward remove the c-clamp from the system. Use a wrench to hold the guide pin while loosening the lower pin bolt of the brake caliper, and protect the hydraulic flexible brake hose with mechanic's wire when you support the caliper. Push the caliper up and secure it before taking off the brake pads for inspection of the retainers. Test the condition of brake caliper guide pins and boots for wear before replacing them and make sure the guide pin boots fully touch the contact points. Put a large c-clamp on top of the caliper pistons until they get fully compressed. Take out the clamp to add the Brake Pad retainers and new brake pads onto the caliper bracket. Push the caliper down over the brake pads while making sure that the lower threads of the pin bolt stay clean before putting threadlocker gm product number 12345493 (Canada 10953488) onto two-thirds of the bolt length. After 10 minutes wait add a slim niglube(R) gm p/n 18046532 coating to the front brake caliper guide pin before you tighten the bottom caliper pin bolt to 34 n.m (25 lb ft). Place the tire and wheel back on the vehicle before lowering the car. With the engine off press and release the Brake Pedal gently to its 2/3 position. Press the Brake Pedal for 15 seconds then start over until you feel the right Brake Pedal resistance. After that fill the brake reservoir and let the pads and rotors adjust.
