How to replace the rear brake calipers (J56) on 2007 Cadillac CTS?

To replace the rear brake caliper (J56), one should first check on the level of the fluid in the brake master cylinder reservoir; if it is mid-way to maximum-full point to minimum allowable, none, but if it is more up then now bring it down to the midway point. Lift and support the vehicle, the tire and wheel assembly, and remove them. Gently set otc 7034 disc brake pad spreader or equivalent between the inboard and outboard brake pad backing plates and use pressure to compress the brake caliper pistons into the caliper piston bores. Next, unfasten the brake hose to caliper bolt and brake hose from caliper and dispose of the 2 copper brake hose gaskets, which may be wedged to the caliper or hose end. Plug the openings on brake caliper and hose to stop leaking and prevent contamination and, then, brake caliper from knuckle mounting and brake handle take away. If threading the caliper to knuckle bolts (without changing the bores), clean the threads and holes with denatured alcohol or equivalent, apply threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to 2/3 of the stated threaded length of the bolts but do not have gaps. Let the threadlocker cure for approximately 10 minutes and apply a thin layer of high-temperature silicone brake lubricant onto the brake caliper pin. Mount the brake caliper to knuckle mounting bolts and tighten them up to 120 n.m (88 lb ft). Remove the plugs from the brake caliper and brake hose, then the brake hose new copper gaskets and screw on new brake caliper bolt to the brake hose. Mount and tighten the brake hose to caliper bolt to 34 n.m (25 lb ft). Bleed the hydraulic brake system by gradual application of the Brake Pedal to about 2/3 of its journey with the engine off, then slow release, and repeat until a firm pedal was achieved to ensure the caliper pistons and brake pads were seated properly. Finally, replace the tire and wheel assembly, and lower your vehicle.
