You should start the shock absorber replacement by taking out the rear seat back and pushing away the sound insulator from the shock tower. Start by taking off upper shock mounting nuts followed by raising and supporting the vehicle. Position the shock absorber outside of the vehicle after first removing its lower mounting bolt. Begin the installation by positioning the shock inside the vehicle then fasten it with the lower shock mounting bolt and tighten it to 150 Nm (111 ft. lbs.) after reading the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Position the shock properly before lowering the vehicle and put the upper nuts in place before tightening them to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). The installation ends with placing the sound insulator correctly along the shock tower and returning the rear seat back in its proper position.
