• Q: How to replace the Air Inject Check Valve on 2006 Cadillac DTS?

  A: A mechanic must start the air check valve replacement by removing the fuel injector sight shield. First disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from both the air check valve and the air pipe quick connect fitting from the same valve. You should start by removing the air check valve to exhaust manifold nuts together with air check valve bolts before pulling the air check valve out. Eliminate the exhaust manifold gasket from the air check valve while cleaning all sealing areas. You should install a new air check valve to exhaust manifold gasket before securing the air check valve into position. Use 9 n.m torque (80 lb in) to fix the exhaust manifold nuts to the air check valve after which install the air check valve bolts while maintaining them at 9 n.m torque. Begin the process by connecting the air pipe quick connect fitting to the air check valve and the engine harness electrical connector to the air check valve followed by replacement of the fuel injector sight shield.
