  A: You must props up the brake caliper with stiff mechanic's wire to protect the hydraulic hose when the replacement work begins. Take off the brake caliper from its bracket but keep the hydraulic hose connected while you remove both brake pads and their holders from the bracket. When using the bracket again wash both caliper bracket and pad hardware surfaces to remove dirt and rust. Test both disc Brake Pad retainers for mounting tab bends, heavy rust, loose bracket connections, and pad area looseness before replacing them. Separate the brake caliper mounting bracket assembly bolts from the Steering Knuckle before pulling the bracket away. Look for bends, cracks or other damage on the caliper bracket that shows why it needs replacement. Examine the brake caliper guide pins (1, 4) for smooth movement and inspect the guide pin boot wear and damage on the brake caliper assembly. Replace all worn-out brake caliper parts if necessary. Install the brake caliper mounting bracket onto the Steering Knuckle by fitting the bolt system at 115 nm (85 ft. Lbs.) torque setting.
