A: To replace the brake pads, there are first steps that one takes to inspect the level of the brake master cylinder auxiliary reservoir, then; take the level to midway point between maximum full point and minimum allowable level. If the level is above midway point, add brake fluid until it is at midway point. Lift and support and remove the tire and wheel assembly. Step 1: install and firmly hand tighten 2 wheel nuts so that they are against the opposite wheel studs to retain therotor to the hub. Dismount the c-clamp and the brake caliper lower guide pin bolt, holding the caliper with heavy mechanic's wire to avoid breaking the hydraulic flexible brake hose. Stake off the brake puller bracket from the brake pads and retainers from the caliper bracket, making sure that the mating surface is cleared of debris and corrosion. Check for the movement of the brake caliper guide pins as well as condition of the guide pin boots, replace them if any problems exist. But a large c-clamp is going to compress the caliper piston fully into bore of a caliper using a large c clamp. Apply a very light coat of the high temperature silicone brake lubricant to the pad hardware mating surfaces of the caliper bracket and fit the Brake Pad retainers . Mount the wear sensor equipped disc Brake Pad inboard of the rotor with the leading edge directed to the brake rotor while going forwards, then install the brake pads, mounts accordingly. Replace the support and rotate the brake caliper into setting over the disc brake pads and to the caliper mounting bracket, install the lower brake caliper guide pin bolt is constructing and tightening it to 34 nm (25 ft. Lbs). Reinstall the tire and wheel assembly, depress the vehicle, and with the engine off, gradually press the brake pedal around 2/3 of the strap position, then release gradually. After waiting 15 seconds, press the brake pedal one more time until the brake pedal feels firm for the brake caliper pistons and brake pads to be properly seated in their positions. Finally, fill the master cylinder auxiliary reservoir up to the correct level and burnish the pads and rotors.
