A: To replace Engine Coolant Temperatures Sensor (ECT), thecooling system must first be drained down beneath the ECT sensor. Then, detach engine harness electrical connector from the ECT sensor and take it out. While installing the new sensor, make sure to coat its threads with sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or similar.
