    A: The first step to replace the power seat switch involves SIR system deactivation. Any work that requires removing passenger seat cover or trim will need a preload check of the Inflatable Restraints Passenger Presence System attached to the seat cushion. Use a flat-bladed tool to gently remove the knobs from the power seat switch while accessing it through the adjuster track by removing the seat cushion. Squeeze the retainers located under the seat cushion to remove the power seat switch bezel which fastens to the frame through prying action. The power seat switch bezel becomes accessible after you have removed its retainers from the J channel. Protect the electrical wiring as you remove the push-in fastener holding the power seat switch to the seat cushion frame before sliding out the switch. The power seat switch requires disconnection of its electrical connector. When installing the wiring harness you should returned it to its original position while connecting the electrical connector to the power seat switch then placing the switch back into the seat cushion frame. Use the push-in fastener to secure the switch before you put back the J channel retainers and replace the open space with the seat cushion cover. The power seat switch bezel should be positioned over the switches before installation of fasteners that will secure it to the seat cushion frame. After completion reinstall the power seat switch knobs together with the seat cushion. Any passenger seat repair work must end with enabling the SIR system followed by running the passenger presence system preload test while strictly adhering to the control module references for setup and programming procedures.
