2007 Cadillac DTS Control Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the Rear Axle Lower Control Arm (FE7) on 2007 Cadillac DTS?
A: The first step to replace the rear axle lower Control Arm (FE7) begins with removing the rear suspension support assembly and next removing the stabilizer link bolt. Start by removing the hub and bearing and continuing with support bracket bolt removal. Start by removing the Control Arm from the rear suspension support assembly through detachment of both Control Arm-affixed nuts and bolts. When installing a Control Arm use a torque wrench to tighten arm nuts while the vehicle rests on its wheels and remains unsupported at normal operating height. First install the Control Arm to the rear suspension support assembly before reinstalling the hub and bearing if needed. Use a new stabilizer link bolt and nut then torque the new bolt nut to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Install the rear suspension support assembly along with its bolts to their proper positions. Tighten each Control Arm nut to 149 n.m (110 lb ft) after achieving trim height in the vehicle.
