How to Replace a Shock Absorber in a Strut Assembly (FE7) on 2007 Cadillac DTS?

Start the strut assembly (FE7) replacement by removing all 3 strut tower bolts. Lift your vehicle while supporting the frame itself to allow control arms to hang independently. Start by taking out the wheel and tire before detaching the wheel speed sensor connector and removing the wheel speed sensor bracket from the dust shield. Begin by removing the brake line bracket from the strut then uninstall the strut to knuckle bolts until you can completely remove the strut from the vehicle. Start by installing the strut according to the fastener notice. Insert the 3 strut tower bolts together with washers while using torque to 66 n.m at 49 lb ft. The next step involves placing the strut into knuckle bolts with nuts before applying torque at 177 n.m (131 lb ft). Secure the brake line bracket onto the strut by applying torque to 23 n.m (17 lb ft) then mount the wheel speed sensor bracket onto the dust shield and seal the connector. To finish the installation process first secure the wheel with a tire through tightening to 125 n.m (80 lb ft). Then lower the vehicle.
