2008 Cadillac DTS Control Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the rear axle lower control arm (W/FE1, FE3) on 2008 Cadillac DTS?
A: To eliminate the rear axle lower Control Arm (W/FE1, FE3), eliminate the rear suspension support assembly. Then remove the stabilizer shaft link bolt, stabilizer shaft insulators, and spacer. In case this is needed, eliminate the hub and bearing. Then, remove the nuts and bolts securing the Control Arm to the rear suspension support assembly as well as remove the lower Control Arm. In the installation stage, put the Control Arm nuts in position with the vehicle on the wheels and at normal trim. Do not tighten the nuts. Install the lower Control Arm to the front suspension support assembly, and then install the Wheel Bearing and hub if required. Mount the stabilizer shaft link bolt, spacer, insulator, and nut, tightening the stabilizer shaft link nut to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Use a workshop manual to guide as you reinstall the rear suspension support assembly on, and fix the Control Arm nuts and bolts securely and securely on the vehicle while rigged at normal ride level by ensuring that it is done to a torque of 106 n.m (78 lb ft) for the Control Arm nuts and 69n.m (50lb-ft) for the Control Arm bolts. Finally, lower the vehicle.
