  A: Check the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid when starting work on the 1500 series rear disc brake pads. Drain fluid to the midway point if the fluid level stands above this mark. Lift your vehicle and take off the tire and wheel unit at once. Secure the back of the caliper housing with a big c-clamp until the caliper piston reaches the caliper bore. Use hand tools only to remove the guide pin bolts and keep the caliper guide pin steady using an open end wrench before taking out the guide pin bolt from the brake caliper.
