• Q: How to replace the front RH Power Window Switch on 2007 Cadillac XLR?

  A: The replacement process for the front side door window switch which is located on the right-hand side requires starting by setting the Ignition Switch to off position while disconnecting the door trim panel. Begin with securing the upper trim panel from the door by removing screws located at its rear section. Start by removing the inner energy absorber element from the door panel before using a screwdriver to eliminate the 4 screws located behind the armrest and a single screw at the front end of the assembly. First disconnect the wire harness of the armrest then take out the armrest assembly while using duct tape to protect the finish before pulling out the Power Window Switch assembly from its pocket inside the door trim panel. The Power Window Switch gets its wire harness disconnected before the switch removes from the armrest switch plate applique. Prior to installation the Power Window Switch must be secured to the armrest switch plate applique with proper engagement in place. You should put the Power Window Switch assembly into its pocket in the door trim panel while disconnecting any protective tape afterwards. Reinstall the Door Armrest onto the door trim panel while securing it with the four rear retaining screws and the one forward screw at 10 n.m (89 lb in). Mount the inner energy absorber to the door panel before you install and tighten the upper trim retainers at the rear of the trim panel to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Complete the door installation by installing the door trim panel.
