To dispose swords charged shock absorbers with safety, first indent 10mm (0.4in) from the bottom base using a center punch, ensure wearing a safety glass to prevent physical harm to oneself. Clamp the shock absorber horizontally in vise with the rod of shock absorber fully expanded. Punch a hole on the centerpunch mark with a 5 mm (3/16 in) drill bit to let gas or a gas/oil mixture out; Rinse the car with motorcycle oil with a shop towel. Next, punch in the middle of the tube with a centerpunch and by this pinpoint; in drill a second hole with that same drill bit while containing the escaping oil with shop towels. Lastly, take the shock absorber off the vise, position it over the drain pan (holes downward) and slide the rod in and out of the tube to drain all the oil.
