2007 Chevrolet Impala Brake Line Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the rear brake line on 2007 Chevrolet Impala?
A: Lift the car and position it properly before you take off the wheel and tire from the back. Wipe out all debris from brake hoses before putting a rubber stopper over the exposed brake pipe fitting. This maintains brake fluid quality. Put a back up wrench on the hose end to disconnect the brake pipe from the hose and seal the pipe brackets without damaging them. Pull the hose retaining clip off from its bracket and pull the hose out of the bracket. Detach the two copper brake hose gaskets from the brake caliper and brake hose ends before taking off the brake hose to caliper bolt and separating the brake hose from the brake caliper. Install both new copper brake hose gaskets and brake hose bolt onto the brake hose before fitting the parts onto the caliper. Secure the brake hose to caliper bolt onto the brake caliper by tightening it to 54 n.m (40 lb ft). When the vehicle rests on its suspension system you must align the brake hose paint stripe with the bracket notch by carefully positioning the hose into the bracket. Also normalize verbalization when possible. Put the retainer on the brake pipe fitting before attaching it to the brake hose through the back up wrench. To this end normalize verbalization when possible. Reposition the rear wheel and tire before installation and check if the hose touches suspension parts; replace the hose if necessary. End your work with brake system hydraulic bleeding followed by lowering the car.
