How to Replace a Front Seat Back Cover and Seat Cushion Pad on 2007 GMC Canyon?

The process of removing the front seat back cover and cushion pad starts by setting the lumbar to a relaxed position followed by removing the seat from the vehicle. Lift off the seat back release handle combined with the seat cushion outer trim panel followed by the head restraint removal. Move the j-strip across the seat back cover bottom so you can compress the seat back pad to decrease resistance from the cover. A gentle side-to-side movement will enable you to safely remove the seat back cover from its position without separating the hook and loop retaining strips or their adhesive-backed strip. To access the seat back pad users need to take out its lower velcro retaining strips from inside the seat cover and also extract the hog rings securing it to the reinforcement bar at the top of the seat back. After spreading the pad you should push the cover and pad until you see the head restraint guides. Use your fingers to unlock the guide tabs before pulling the guides upward.
