2007 GMC Envoy Brake Line Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front brake line on 2007 GMC Envoy?
A: The first step for front brake hose replacement involves unfastening the frame-mounted brake hose retaining bolt after you cover the open ends of the brake pipe fittings with a rubber cap or plug because exposure triggers fluid loss and contamination. First detach the brake hose bolt from the brake caliper assembly and extract the brake hose from the vehicle while handling away metal gasket pieces found on the brake caliper or brake hose ends. When performing an installation only fresh copper gaskets should be used to connect the brake hose to its bolt then tighten the bolt to 44 n.m (33 lb ft). Secure the brake hose retaining bolt to the frame by tightening it to 20 n.m (18 lb ft) and remove the rubber cap or plug from the brake pipe fitting. Tighten the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose until reaching 20 n.m (18 lb ft) pressure. Next add fluid into the brake master cylinder reservoir followed by bleeding the hydraulic brake system. At the end of the procedure install the front tires and wheels assembly before lowering the vehicle from its height.
