How to Replace a Rear Brake Line (Caliper) Safely on 2007 GMC Savana 3500?

After raising and supporting the vehicle you must take off the tire and wheel assembly. Apply protective hardware before swapping the brake hose end into the brake pipe fitting and removing all impurities. Connect the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose by using a back up wrench but leave it covered with rubber cap or plug. Lift the brake mounting bracket and take out the brake hose through both stretcher points and the caliper bolt. Remove the 2 stuck copper hose gaskets between the brake caliper and pipe fitting ends. Place 2 new brake hose copper gaskets between the brake hose and the caliper before tightening the brake hose bolt to 44 n.m (33 lb ft) with the caliper bolt. Install the brake hose bolt and brake hose on top of the washers before putting them into the caliper. Keep the brake hose straight from coming into contact with steering components. Mount the brake hose into the bracket while securing the hose retaining clip. Twist a back up wrench on the brake hose end to link it to the rubber coverless fitting end of the brake pipe. Remember to keep the mounting bracket and brake pipe from getting bent while tightening to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Disconnect the brake hose first then properly reassemble the tire and wheel while checking both the suspension and brake hose for proper alignment ensuring no contact to fixed components.
