How to replace the rear brake line connected to the caliper on 2006 GMC Savana 3500?

The process of replacing the rear brake hose attached to the caliper begins by lifting the vehicle and removing the tire and wheel assembly. Brake hose ends and brake pipe fittings need thorough cleaning to remove all foreign substances and dirt. Use a rubber cap or plug to cover the brake pipe fitting both for fluid conservation and protection against contamination. A back up wrench should be used to separate the brake hose fitting from the brake pipe fitting as you place a cap on the brake pipe fitting end. Separate the brake hose retaining clip from the mounting bracket before unhooking the brake hose from its position. Locate and eliminate the brake caliper's brake hose to caliper bolt then discard stuck 2 copper brake hose gaskets found on the caliper housing or the brake hose end. Two new copper brake hose gaskets should be used for installation by assembling them with the brake hose bolt to the brake hose. Place the brake hose to caliper bolt together with 2 new washers onto the brake caliper while tightening the bolt to 44 nm (33 ft. Lbs.). Check for proper alignment before installing the brake hose into its mounting bracket then finalize the retention with the clip. To connect the brake pipe fitting with the brake hose use a back up wrench on the fitting end while maintaining a straight position for the mounting bracket and brake pipe before tightening to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). After bleeding the hydraulic brakes, reassemble the wheel unit while verifying that the hose remains at least 50mm (2 inches) away from all suspension components and the tire and wheel system. You must take out the brake hose first before you can repair the problem or allow the vehicle to lower itself.
