How to replace the rear brake line on 2008 Cadillac SRX?

Start the brake hose replacement job by securely lifting and stabilizing the vehicle. Clean away dirt from both brake hose and brake pipe fittings before taking out the left wheel and tire. Set up a rubber seal on the brake pipe opening to hold brake fluid inside its system. First unzip the clip near the brake hose end to disconnect it from the crossover pipe fitting. The tool helps to loosen the brake hose retainer from its position on the brake hose. Take the brake hose out from the vehicle and the frame assembly while taking the brake hose to caliper bolt off the brake caliper. Hit the brake hose threaded end against a shop towel base to let the gasket fall out. Insert a rubber plug into the caliper bolt hole of the brake caliper when you remove the two stuck copper brake hose gaskets. Put the new brake hose gaskets with brake hose bolt into place and fasten the brake hose to caliper bolt onto the brake caliper by tightening it to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Place the brake hose carefully on frame parts before adding the brake hose retainer to the hose itself. Thread the brake pipe fitting into the brake hose end first before hand-tightening it to 18 newton-meters (13 pound-feet). After bleeding the brake system you should put on the left wheel and tire plus lower the vehicle.
