How to Replace the Thermostat Housing on LY7 and LLT Engines on 2008 Cadillac STS?

The process starts with draining the cooling system partially following cooling system draining and filling procedure (GE 47716). You need to uninstall the Throttle Body when performing work on an llt engine. After draining some cooling system fluid through cooling system draining and filling (GE 47716) start by unfastening the Radiator Hose from the Thermostat Housing. Soak the Thermostat Housing before removal and discard its old seals when finished. After cleaning both surfaces of the Thermostat Housing thoroughly. Set the Thermostat Housing in its position followed by installation of new Thermostat Housing seals. Force the Thermostat Housing bolts to 10 n.m while using a torque wrench (89 lb in). Cp3 engine owners must reinstall the Throttle Body after reconnecting the Radiator Hose to the Thermostat Housing while owners of the llt engine replace the Throttle Body. Finish the cooling system implementation process by performing cooling system draining and filling (GE 47716).
