How to Properly Remove and Install an Ignition Lock Cylinder on 2008 Chevrolet Equinox?

In order to change the ignition switch lock cylinder, get the negative battery cable and disconnect the SIR system. Take out the steering column trim covers and the wipers/washer switch. Turn the ignition lock cylinder to the RUN position, push the retainers to take out the old one and fit the new lock cylinder. Install again components and reconnect battery.
