2008 Chevrolet Impala Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the engine mount on 2008 Chevrolet Impala?
A: The first step for a new Engine Mount replacement involves removing the tire and wheel next to removing the engine splash shield. First place an adjustable jack with wood block under the Oil Pan so you can take off the Engine Mount to frame nuts. The adjustable jack can lift the engine when all Engine Mount bracket bolts are removed to access the mount/bracket for removal. Position the new Engine Mount/bracket on the engine after vehicle mount removal. Then install the Engine Mount bracket bolts according to the specified arrangement while tightening to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). After moving the engine into its position using the adjustable jack with frame support, remove the block of wood and adjustable jack. Follow the process of installing frame nuts to the Engine Mount, then tightening the fasteners to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Finally, put back the engine splash shield and install the tire and wheel.
