How to replace the Brake Fluid Level Sensor for the 3.6L engine on 2008 Chevrolet Malibu?

You first need to disconnect the brake fluid level indicator switch electrical connector and drain brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir to install the part for the 3.6L engine. Twist out the master cylinder reservoir bolt to pull the reservoir away from its place. Press the locking tabs on the switch to unclamp it from the master cylinder underside. You should cleanse the reservoir with denatured alcohol and let filtered compressed air dry it before fitting it. Connect the fluid level indicator switch to the master cylinder while depressing the tabs fully before putting back the reservoir then fix it with the master cylinder reservoir bolt by tightening it to 8 N.m. Attach the brake fluid level indicator switch electrical connection and pour new fluid into the master cylinder storage tank.
