How to replace the fuel level sensor on 2008 Chevrolet Malibu?

The first step when replacing the Fuel Level Sensor requires removal of the Fuel Pump module assembly. The first task requires detachment of the Fuel Level Sensor wiring harness from its module clip then removing its electrical connector from the pump module connector. Push the tab of the sensor toward the opening before pulling out the level sensor from the module alignment feature. To install the sensor fit the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector to the pump module electrical connector then position the module alignment feature tab opening on the rear of the sensor correctly before pressing the sensor tab toward you for locking. Reattach the Fuel Level Sensor wiring harness by placing it in the clip on the module then install the complete Fuel Pump module assembly.
