You must take out the lower Intake Manifold with upper manifold on lp1 and ly7 engines or simply the Intake Manifold on llt engines before working on the camshaft position actuator on bank 1 (Right Side) exhaust. After removing the right camshaft cover you should take off both right intake and exhaust camshaft position sensors. Disconnect both right camshaft position actuator solenoids one after the other. Turn the crankshaft balancer bolt slowly forward when the camshafts sit in their neutral position to confirm timing and position labels match both actuators. Attach marks to the Timing Chain segments and the tooth pairs on both exhaust and intake camshaft position actuator units. Place an open-end wrench to push the camshafts together until the chain free space appears before unscrewing the en-48313 tool to lock its legs back. Put the en-48313 tool between the camshaft actuators with their ends toward the front of the engine and adjust the tool legs only until they touch the Timing Chain without force applied. Use an open-end wrench to fasten the t-handle on en-48313 and maintain engine stability during camshaft position actuator bolt unhousing. The Timing Chain needs to be draped across the en-48313 while both right exhaust camshaft position parts are removed. Set the exhaust camshaft actuator top mark against the Timing Chain mark you created at dismantling. Also align the intake camshaft actuator mark when installing. Place the exhaust actuator onto the camshaft alignment marks and tighten its bolt by hand. Remove the en-48313 part from the engine. Affix the bolt on the right exhaust camshaft position actuator to 58 nm (43 lb ft), and reconnect the right intake and exhaust camshaft position actuator solenoids alongside their corresponding sensors. End by placing the camshaft cover in its designated position before moving forward with llt engine Intake Manifold setup and lp1/ly7 engine lower and upper Intake Manifold union.
