How to replace the left side catalytic converter (V6) on 2009 Cadillac CTS?

The process to replace the left side Catalytic Converter (V6) requires the removal of the Exhaust Manifold heat shield first. Start by taking out the Catalytic Converter's nuts and then lift up your vehicle with support in place. Separate the Oxygen Sensor electrical connector while you pull the muffler pipe away from both catalytic converters located on the left and right sides of the exhaust system. Release the Exhaust Manifold's Catalytic Converter and its seal/heat shield and Oxygen Sensor before removing the Oxygen Sensor from the Catalytic Converter. The installation process starts with sensor attachment to the Catalytic Converter followed by a check of the Catalytic Converter seal/heat shield surface for wear and damage. As a first step insert the Catalytic Converter onto the Exhaust Manifold while using Catalytic Converter nuts for partial attachment. For installation you should first connect the Oxygen Sensor electrical connector before examining the Catalytic Converter seals for replacement if damaged. Cautiously bolt the Exhaust Pipe to both catalytic converters and torque them to 17 nm (13 lb ft). Lower the vehicle first and then torque the Catalytic Converter to Exhaust Manifold nuts until they reach 50 nm (37 lb ft). Complete the installation by installing the Exhaust Manifold heat shield and check for any leakage in the entire exhaust system.
