The first step to replace an outer Tie Rod in the steering linkage involves vehicle elevation along with support mechanisms. First unlink the front tire assembly after marking the position of the jam nut which will be used during reassembly. You should loosen the jam nut while holding the ball stud in place to keep the stud from spinning. Fork and wedge tools must be strictly prohibited from freeing ball studs because using these techniques will damage the seal and bushing. The j 24319-b (Steering Linkage and Tie Rod Puller) helps to detach the Tie Rod from the steering knuckle before removing the outer Tie Rod section from the inner Tie Rod section. The Tie Rod assembly is installed by uniting the outer Tie Rod with the inner Tie Rod before joining them to the knuckle assembly. Utilize a new Tie Rod retention nut before tightening it to reach 25 nm (18 lb ft) torque with an additional 90-degree angle. The last step includes reattaching the front tire assembly while performing a wheel alignment check.
