How to Service and Repair Front Suspension Coil Springs on 2009 Chevrolet Impala?

In order to service and cut the coil spring at the front suspension, you first take the strut off the car. Mount the strut in the j 45400, making sure that the spring is compressed as the strut moves freely. Turn the forcing screw spring compressor up to compress the coil spring . Take off the upper strut mount nut using the j 42991 while holding the strut shaft with a 45 torx(R) socket. In the above step after the removal of the strut from the j 45400; detach the compressor forcing screw 1at a point where it will make room for the removal of the upper strut mount accompanied by coil spring. Fit the coil spring and apex to the j 45400 first, deploy the spring compressor and catchavtive screw until the coil spring is compressed again. Mount the strut to the coil spring and upper strut mount, paying attention to fastener precautions. Use the j 42991 and a 45 torx(R) socket to put in the strut retainer nut with 70 nm (52 lb ft). Finally, it is time to take the strut from the j 45400 and return it back to the vehicle.
