How to replace the rear brake line on 2009 Chevrolet Malibu?

Start brake hose replacement by placing the vehicle on a hoist. Clean all the dirt and debris from the brake hose ends before removing the tire and wheel assembly at the rear of the vehicle. First apply a flare nut wrench on the brake pipe fitting and a back up wrench on the brake hose end before taking out the brake hose retainer and rear brake hose banjo bolt from the brake caliper assembly. Ultimately free the brake hose from its fitting. Throw away the two stuck copper gaskets from the brake hose ends before using caps or plugs to keep brake fluid in the hose and caliper safe from contamination. Use new copper gaskets to install the brake hose properly through the brake caliper while tightening the bolt to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Thread both sides of the brake hose into their proper locations before tightening the brake hose retainer over the anti-rotation tabs when attaching the brake hose body bracket. Connect the brake pipe fitting end to the brake hose end and tighten it to 20 nm (15 lb ft) by holding onto the brake hose with a back up wrench. Move the hose away from the suspension parts and fix the problem before installing it back. End the hydraulic braking process after installation and add the wheel assembly before letting the vehicle down.
