2010 Cadillac STS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Power Steering Reservoir on a V6 engine on 2010 Cadillac STS?
A: The first step in changing the power steering reservoir for V6 engines requires the removal of fuel injector sight shield and front air deflector. A drain pan should be placed under the vehicle while the technician disconnects the power steering cooler hose and outlet hose from the power steering reservoir. The reservoir should be removed from the vehicle after you disconnect the retaining bolts. Position the new power steering reservoir then attach it using the retaining bolts and tighten them to 9 Nm (80 lb in). Complete the reconnection of both outlet and cooler hoses to the power steering reservoir and remove the drain pan. First blow air through the power steering system before putting back the front air deflector and the fuel injector sight shield.
