How to replace the front brake disc on 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt?

Beginning work on the front Brake Disc requires both lifting the vehicle high enough for safe access plus taking off the wheel assembly. Loosen the brake caliper bolts and detach the brake caliper from the Steering Knuckle by hanging the unit with heavy mechanic wire to shield the flexible brake hose. Take off the Brake Disc retainers when they exist before removing the Brake Disc. Use j 42450-a to clean the hub/axle flange while using j 41013 to clean the Brake Disc. Check the joint parts and confirm they have no dirty residue. Place the Brake Disc on top of the hub by matching its mark. Before reinstalling the brake caliper bolts you should immerse them and the threads into denatured alcohol until they dry. Use threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) on all threads of caliper bolts until you reach two-thirds of the total bolt extension. Let the threadlocker sit undisturbed for 10 minutes before putting on the brake caliper assembly to the Steering Knuckle using brake caliper bolts at 130 nm (96 lb ft) torque. Replace the tire and wheel components back into their original position.
