How to replace the rear brake disc on Chevrolet Cobalt?

Begin work by placing the vehicle in a raised position above the ground while supporting it. Put j 41013 c-clamp over the brake caliper body but keep the ends against its back and Brake Pad area during installation. Press the c-clamp until the caliper piston gets compressed to 1mm (0.039 inch) but do not force more to protect brake parts and their working mechanism. Hydraulic brake hose safety depends on using mechanic's wire or an equivalent tool to support the brake caliper after you take off the c-clamp. Pull both the brake caliper and the caliper mounting bracket from the knuckle as one unit while maintaining the hydraulic brake hose in a relaxed state. Use the matchmarks to reposition the Brake Disc onto its wheel studs before taking it out. Use the wheel hub kit j 42450-a and rotor kit j 41013 to clean all rust and debris from the hub/axle flange and Brake Disc surfaces. Examine both sides of the Brake Disc surface before placing it correctly on the hub/axle flange by lining up matchmarks. When you replace brakes check the assembled lateral runout of the disc to see if it matches requirements; adjust the system if runout exceeds standards. Put back the brake assembly with caliper and bracket to the Steering Knuckle before fitting the tire and wheel assembly. The new brake pads need to be run-in with the refinished or replaced Brake Disc through routine operation.
