To replace the rear brake caliper, check out the brake master cylinder aux reservoir level; if the level is higher midway between the maximum-full and the minimum allowable, fill it to midway between these two. Release the parkbrake lever boot fom it tethered location in the floor console by placing moderate inwards pressure on the sides of the retainer boot and then pulling the boot back, but release the tension on the parkbrake cables by loosening the adjusting nut completely with the handtools. Lift up the vehicle, and take off the tire and wheel assembly. Mount and firmly hand tighten 2 wheel nuts to the opposite wheel studs to hold the rotor to the hub. Unhook the end of the park brake cable from the lever on the caliper and the retaining tabs that hold the park brake cable to the bracket on the caliper. Utilizing a large c-clamp on the body of the brake caliper, set it on the back and outer Brake Pad with a tightness that compresses the caliper piston by 1mm (0.039 in) of travel. Remove the c-clamp, underneath; remove the brake hose-to-caliper bolt and brake hose and dispose of the 2 copper brake hose gaskets that may adhere to the brake caliper or brake hose end. Cap or plug the openings in brake caliper and brake hose to prevent fluid loss and contamination, then demount the brake caliper guide pin bolts whilst using wrench on flat of brake caliper guide pins and remove the brake caliper from the caliper bracket. Check the brake caliper guide pins for it's freedom of movement and the condition of the guide pin boots for it's restricted movement, looseness in the mounting bracket, seizing or binding of pins, and split or torn boots; replace any faulty components. While installing the new brake caliper, the caliper mounts on to the caliper bracket with brake caliper guide pin being installed and tightened with 34 nm (25 lb ft). Find the park brake cable end fitting and insert it in the bracket on the caliper, make sure the end of the park brake cable is attached to the lever of the caliper. After dremelling out the plug from the brake caliper opening, the brake hose, install new copper brake hose gaskets to the brake hose to the caliper bolt and the brake hose. Mount the brake hose and the brake hose-to-brake caliper bolt to the caliper and tighten the bolt to 48 nm (35 lb ft). Bleed the hydraulic brake system, and then pull off the wheel nuts in where the brake rotor is attached to the Wheel Hub, before installing a tire and wheel assembly. Lower, the vehicle, have the engine off, apply the brake pedal slowly say approximately 2/3 of its travel distance, let off slowly, wait for fifteen seconds then apply the brake pedal again until a firm feel is obtained to seat the brake calliper pistons and brake pads. Finally, pull the cables of the park brake cable until the tension becomes right and position the park brake lever boot next to the floor console and press retainer of the boot to seat it correctly.
